Perhaps for the first time since Ronald Reagan swept an election across 49 states, someone in the Republican Party poked a finger in the eye of tradition.
Traditionally, in a political primary debate, you promise what you cannot deliver, criticize those you should be linked with, and ruffle as few feathers as possible. Apparently, in the most recent Republican Presidential Debate, Vivek Ramaswamy jabbed his finger into several eyes.
Ironically, there was very little coverage other than X shots of Ramaswamy’s remarks and an interesting report on Zero Hedge.
Typically, while the other candidates were discussing why the one leading by a wide margin isn’t the best choice, and perhaps we should be supporting Israel in its fight with Hamas – or not, Ramaswamy was asking why Republicans keep losing elections.
He took a jab at National GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel as to why Republicans have been losing at the ballot box since 2018. The Ohio entrepreneur offered to give McDaniel his time on the stage if she would come up and resign from her post.
Ramaswamy also jabbed at the RNC’s inability to get pro-Republican, or at least politically neutral, moderators for the debates, pointing out that the Democrats would never allow Fox News pundit Greg Gutfeld to moderate their debates.
The 38-year-old then criticized the NBC moderators for peddling the false claims of the infamous Steele Dossier and never owning up to their efforts to sabotage Trump’s run for the presidency in 2016. Ramaswamy also mentioned the media's failure to expose the Hunter Biden laptop story in an effort to keep Trump out of the White House in 2020.
More than one Democrat voter has said they would not have voted for Joe Biden had they known about the laptop. Not that that would have helped, considering what was exposed in Dinesh D’Souza’s documentary “2000 Mules” and Michael Lindell’s election fraud investigation. Something McDaniel talks very little about.
Had Trump been given a preview of Ramaswamy’s comments prior to the debate, the former president might have joined him on stage that night.
The failure of the Democrat Party in government while continuing to win at the polls has never been adequately answered. It is not that ground troops like California Vicechair Laurie Wallace and the brave souls she’s helped win seats on local governing boards aren’t presenting an alternative to what the Dem’s stumble over. It demonstrates that top GOP leadership is sorely lacking.
In the words of Townhall writer Mark Lewis, “It is a Washington problem, but ‘Washington’ is only a name. Ultimately, (it’s) a people-problem, a leadership problem, (that) is causing America’s decline. People will follow their leaders, and bad leaders will lead to failure. ‘O my people, those who lead you cause you to err’” (Isaiah 3:12).
The culture of America doesn’t really reflect that of the rest of the world. What we see today would never have been put on celluloid by Walt Disney 70 years ago. But today, his company is trying to make a living by doing just that, and they’re not alone.
Ramaswamy is right, the Republican Party has been going with the flow and it is headed downstream. It’s time to turn the boat around and start rowing – hard.
If Biden and the Democrats are trying to lead us into a winner-take-all world, Christian conservatives will not be on that list of winners. The Jews are fighting that fight now, and not only in Israel. We cannot know God’s plan as to how this should go but don’t be caught without an oar in your hand when He is the one who establishes that New World Order.
