As states across this country crumble and fall into the sea of woke ideology, one has to wonder if a nation divided can long stand.
Without going into which states are still standing, let’s look at one near and dear to the hearts of Placer County residents – California.
A recent study was conducted by the Hoover Institute, a conservative think tank located on the campus of Stanford University (located in California). The study was an update on the Golden State’s economy, state policies, and politics. The study was done by HI Fellows Bill Whalen and Lee Ohanian. The following excerpts were taken from Ohanian’s article titled: I Once Thought California Would Fix Itself. I Was Wrong.
One of the areas covered by Ohanian was education.
“California’s K–12 public education system is the most illustrative of the damage created by relationships between state policymakers and political interest groups.” Ohanian wrote in his opening statement on the subject. The author goes on to say that the state’s Department of Education threatens to sue any “expert” testifying against the DOE’s 75-percent failure rate.
Sound familiar? When your failures are being called onto the carpet, drag the perpetrator of “disinformation” into court. Perhaps having a departmental budget of $128 billion, larger than the entire budget of most states, helps to pay for those court costs. However, don’t think California’s courts do not know who butters their bread.
A lawsuit has been filed against the Chino Valley Unified School District School Board in California. That district had the audacity to require schools to inform the parents of any child suffering from gender dysphoria (thehill.com reporting).
Quick to jump on the LGBTQ+ bandwagon was California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta, with support from Governor Gavin Newsom and the judge issuing the temporary restraining order to halt the “new” policy.
According to The Hill, Bonta stated, “San Bernardino Superior Court’s decision to issue a temporary restraining order rightfully upholds the state rights of our LGBTQ+ student community and protects kids from harm by immediately halting the board’s forced outing policy,” … .
“While this fight is far from over, today’s ruling takes a significant step towards ensuring the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of transgender and gender-nonconforming students. As we continue challenging the policy in court, my office will continue providing our unwavering support to ensure every student has the right to learn and thrive in a school environment that promotes safety, privacy, and inclusivity.”
It was in the news not that long ago that parents questioning school board decisions were being arrested. Now the state of California has done a 180 and is attacking the school board.
Not only that, but California’s State Assembly recently passed Bill 957, which requires judges in child custody cases to consider whether a parent has affirmed gender transition in his or her child. This, the bill states, is in the interest of the child’s health, safety, and welfare. The bill is apparently on Newsom’s desk awaiting his signature.
Remember Adolph Hitler’s Youth Camps?
The following is taken from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website, encyclopedia.ushmm.org.
Piggy-backed onto the detention centers the Nazis established for adolescent criminal behavior, the youth camps eventually became indoctrination centers, as described below by the USHMM.
“This decree formed the basis for the persecution of anyone who deviated from National Socialist norms and ideals. In 1938, there followed a further series of decrees and regulations that dealt with the treatment of asocials and called for the “protective custody” of whole families as well as suggesting the registration and police surveillance of asocials.”
In her book, “Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age,” author Rosaria Butterfield wrote that the LGBTQ+ “community” really isn’t a community at all. It’s a behavior co-opted by politics to play on the fears of parents and demand tolerance of this Leftist agenda.
Gays, lesbians, and transgenders do not all live in the same neighborhoods (communities). In fact, there are many who do not get along with the other designated groups and reject efforts to infiltrate public schools. That effort only damages the relationship between cisgenders (straight) and the so-called LGBTQ+ community.
Butterfield, a former English and Women’s Studies professor at Syracuse University was lesbian when younger. As she matured, she discovered Christianity and helped champion the idea that Christian churches should be more inclusive of gays and transgenders. As she dug deeper, she came to see the LGBTQ/Church alliance as anti-Christian. That prompted her to write her latest book, which is based on her journey to where she stands today.
Butterfield did not come to her conclusions overnight. Her transition came in increments. Today, her story tells how she found her way from lesbianism to Christianity through a gradual change in her behavior. She now tells others, especially women, how they can do the same.
On a recent segment of The Eric Metaxas Show, on which Butterfield was a guest, she said that God can change feelings and that we need to learn how to hate sin without hating ourselves.
“We don’t know how to love our enemies; we love to pretend that our enemies are our friends,” Butterfield said. “It’s not just a sin to tell a lie, it’s also a sin to believe one. … this is spiritual warfare.”
Now a grandmother and married to a man, Butterfield and Metaxas agreed that many churches have tried to adapt the Gospel to accept LGBTQ+ as it is without shedding the sin through repentance.
“This is Marxist and diabolical,” Metaxas said. “The church is not recognizing gay as sin.”
The Apostle John warned of this in his letters to the churches, found in The Book of Revelation. The following are excerpts from those letters.
Ephesus: “Repent and do the things you did at first.”
Thyatira: “You tolerate that woman Jezebel … . By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality … . I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling.”
Sardis: “I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up!”
Laodicea: “So, because you are lukewarm – neither cold nor hot – I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”
There is a growing fear of Christianity in America. Case in point involves a member of the Rocklin School District Board of Trustees. This person put out a request for “Christ-following” residents of the district to join committees appointed by the board to review certain policies. With the hell that has rained down on the individual posting the request, one would think it was a request for Devil-following residents.
Do these anti-Christian advocates not wonder what those crucifix-topped structures in their communities represent? People from the community attend services in those buildings and have children attending your secular public schools.
Is it so wrong to ask for input from these folks? If you are afraid of Christianity, perhaps you should listen to what someone who fears God has to say.
Of secular interest on this subject, is the approach of the National Association of Social Workers’ guidelines for Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE), as indicated on their website:
“The term sexual orientation change efforts (or SOCE) include any practice seeking to change a person’s sexual orientation, including, but not limited to, efforts to change behaviors, gender identity, or gender expressions, or to reduce or eliminate sexual or romantic attractions or feelings toward a person of the same gender.”
So, the state of California interprets this as not a call to change LGBTQ+ behavior, but to change the behavior of those who might oppose it – like parents, for instance.
Taking the license to practice medicine into its own hands, the state of California has prohibited psychiatrists and psychologists from “treating” patients exhibiting LGBTQ+ behavior and to affirm it instead.
Not only is this anti-Christian; it is in opposition to the nuclear family as well. One might want to consider looking outside the box to try and understand why California’s public schools are in freefall.
Ohanian concluded that California’s policy reforms are there for the taking. Policies that would create better schools and alleviate a myriad of other California woes.
“But those reforms will sit on the shelf until voters choose differently,” Ohanian wrote. “I hope in another five years that I will be able to write that voters did just that.”
Perhaps Ohanian and Whalen might also want to join Mike Lindell’s legal team and take a closer look at California’s election policies.
